16 weeks

I swear I am feeling the baby kick the teeny, tiniest bit, but then again...maaaaaybe not. I feel ginormous. I am growing at a ridiculous rate and still just look like I am packing on the pounds. I will post some belly pics soon. Clothed belly pics, DON'T GET TOO EXCITED!
My energy is ALMOST back to normal, not sure that it will ever get back to my pre-pregnancy spastic. I am still taking a short nap after work, but not every day. Craving sugar. Lots of it. Oh, and pickles IMAGINE THAT?!
Baby is about 4 1/2 inches long and 3 1/2 ounces. About the size of an avocado. He/She is growing toenails, so cute! The heart is pumping about 25 quarts of blood a day. That blows my mind.

My baby is this big:

12 Week Appointment.

Today was amazing. Our first appointment with the Perinatologist. Christian and Sydney came along, since we were headed to the State Fair immediately following. First, Matt and I had some Genetic counseling, which terrified us. TERRIFIED!!! After counseling, we were escorted to the Sono room. Christian and Sydney met us in there.
The Sono Tech came in and did the first round of images. We saw our perfectly formed, 3 inch (from crown to rump) baby. After she did the basic stuff, she jabbed, jiggled and wiggled the doppler into my uterus in an attempt to wake the baby. IT WORKED!! The baby strrrreeeetched his/her legs and arms. He/she kicked against the wall which pushed it up and then it would fall back down into the fetal position. This went on and on. We could see the mouth opening, attempts and turning over, pushing UP and then slowly floating back through the amniotic fluid back into it's original position. Oh, and I am pretty sure that towards the end, poor baby punches his/herself in the face.

Words cannot describe. There are no words. Christian and Sydney were speechless...for the first time ever.

The Dr. said the baby looks perfect. We could not be more thrilled...and relieved.

Here is the amazing video of our little socca-playa!

The First Trimester is ROUGH!

The first trimester has been pretty hard on me. Sleep and eat. Eat and sleep.

My daily routine:
  • Wake up, get kids to school.
  • Go to work.
  • Get off work, pick up kids.
  • Come home, sleep on couch from 3:35pm until around 7:00pm.
  • Wake up, throw together some dinner, put kids to bed, put myself back to bed.
Nausea is constant throughout the day. Luckily, it just stays nausea, doesn't produce anything. ugh! Food just isn't very appealing. Meat gags me. All that I really want is caaaaaarbs, carbs and more carbs...oh and throw a bowl of soup into the mix. PERFECT!!!

Other than that...NO COMPLAINTS! ;)

8 weeks

So, Matt and I found out that we were expecting when I was 4 weeks pregnant, maybe even earlier considering I wasn't even late yet. I was getting my teeth whitening trays out from under the sink and sitting right next to them was the extra pregnancy test from the month before. I decided, WHY NOT?!? Matt had no idea I was taking it. He was on the couch...reading I think. I threw the stick with the big, giant plus-sign at him and his mouth dropped. We both sat in silence while it sunk in.

DUE DATE: APRIL 21 2011

It's been exciting to say the least. This is what we saw on the screen at our first OB appointment. A precious, little gummy bear.

He/She is the size of a grape.
